The grip dispute (kumi-kata ) in judo: A scoping review

In judo combat, the grip (kumi-kata) helps to control and dominate opponent, per current rules is a prerequisite executing throwing technique. this scoping review, articles reviews published in scientific journals English were searched Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed SPORTDiscus databases from inception until December 2020. The studies classified into technical-tactical or time-motion analyses, attempts, locations on uke´s (athlete receiving attack) judogi (judo uniform) hands that performed grips, one two holding. Articles evaluating physical physiological capacities dispute excluded. From 286 identified, 41 included final selection. Two reviewers screened records independently for eligibility. One reviewer extracted all data other reviewed accuracy. main results showed that: i) more experienced athletes hold less time before attacking focus their vision face collar; ii) male athletes, especially heavy ones, longer use defensive grips (collar collar); iii) most used was collar sleeve; iv) position kenka-yotsu (opposite sides). result review may assist coaches develop training strategies according athletes’ objectives, as well future investigations can be conducted related judo.
